2.2.1 Towards new guidance to develop and implement coastal adaptation integrating climate science (GEO, WMO, GERICS, CSIRO)

Ocean and coastal observations are required for adaptation planning for many coastal challenges related to climate change including coastal erosion, saltwater intrusion and ocean acidification. These observations can support assessments of risks and vulnerabilities, identify and assess options, and inform the development and successful implementation of NAPs. This session will showcase examples of climate science information for climate action and advance the collaboration for the development of supplemental guidance for the development and technical implementation of NAPs with a focus on coastal areas.
