Dr. Enrico C. Paringit is the Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology. He is a licensed geodetic engineer and a professor under the Department of Geodetic Engineering in University of the Philippines Diliman, where he is the chair and director of the Department of Geodetic Engineering and Director of the Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry. He specializes in remote sensing and modeling of hydrological and coastal environments and in disaster risk reduction. He spearheads the Disaster Risk Exposure and Assessment for Mitigation (DREAM) and Phil-LIDAR 1 Programs from 2011-2018, which utilized laser mapping technology to identify flood-prone areas throughout the Philippines. At DOST-PCIEERD, he led the development programmes in the R&D grants program management, capacity-building and partnerships to accelerate the pace and scale of science, technology and innovation in the Philippines. Dr Paringit holds a BS in Geodetic Engineering (1997), MS in Remote Sensing (1999), both from the University of the Philippines and obtained Doctor of Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology (2003).
