The Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) is mandated to provide technical guidance on the formulation and implementation of national adaptation plans (NAPs) and does so through the development of technical guidelines on the formulation and implementation of NAPs. It regularly coordinates with various organizations through the NAP Technical Working Group and works together to produce supplementary materials to the NAP technical guidelines which are intended to offer in-depth coverage of selected elements of the NAPs.

The St. Lucia National Adaptation Plan (NAP), submitted to UNFCCC on  the 21st of September, includes 5 sectoral plans and strategies for communication and monitoring and evaluation. The Fiji National Adaptation Plan was submitted to the UNFCCC secretariat on December 12, 2018 and was launched at the margins of COP 24 in Katowice, Poland. The NAP contains 160 adaptation measures to be prioritised over the five-year period of the NAP. They have been selected on the basis of stakeholder consensus.
