Parallel session 3C: Technical guidance and support: Integrated approach to supplements to the NAP technical guidelines: Foundations of the iFrame (NAP Technical Working Group)

Synopsis: Supplements to the NAP technical guidelines provide detail on how to address specific topics and components of the NAP process, such as by focusing in sectors or methodological issues. This session will discuss current thinking about better coherence among the supplements and how a focus on systems can help manage multiple entry points and coordination during the formulation and implementation of NAPs.

Topics:

• Mapping multiple entry points to assessments and introducing a systems approach (LEG)
• Priorities areas for adaptation in main sectors: Agriculture and food security, energy, water, cities, health, ecosystems (inputs from experts/agencies)
• Discussion on how to approach further supplements to ensure coherent and integrative approach, including comments from recent proponents (UN HABITAT, ISDR, GWP, FAO Fisheries, WMO)
