Sion Shifa Mr. Sion Shifa is a Senior Conservation, works at the Department of Environment Affairs, under Subdivision Climate Change Unit in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in Namibia. Sion has over 5 years of working experience in the areas of climate change adaptation, land & Environmental management, facilitation, community development as well as grant management.
Sion has worked in a range of positions within the community based natural resource management and environment sector and most of these positions entailed coordination and facilitation of a range of activities including socio-economic surveys, community development programmes, and enhancement of partnership between different institutions particularly government agencies.
As a professional, Sion holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Management from University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa. He has thorough knowledge of managerial skills, technical and environmental legislation as well as procedures. He has a professional approach to consultations with stakeholders, field staff and has demonstrated a particular ability in understanding issues, determining the alternatives, and seeing them through to implementation. Sion has a proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships whilst successfully maintaining a constructive and open approach.
