Joseph has vast experience and wide knowledge in the energy sector having worked for 15 years with the Malawi’s Department of Energy Affairs – holding different positions. He is currently working as a Deputy Director in the Department responsible for promotion of alternative and renewable energy technologies.
Joseph has been involved in environment and climate change talks/discussions both within and outside Malawi. His main areas of interest in these talks or discussions are mitigation – that is how alternative, renewable and sustainable energy can contribute towards mitigating the impact of climate change; and technology development, diffusion and transfer. He has represented the Malawi energy sector in over 5 UNFCCC’s Conferences of Parties.
Whilst working for the Department for the said period, he has also been exposed to biomass, liquid fuels and gas and electricity sub-sectors.
He holds a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in United States of America.
