Scaling up adaptation
The NAP Expo is an annual outreach event organized by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) under the UNFCCC, in collaboration with various bodies and organizations, to promote exchange of experiences and foster partnerships between a wide range of actors and stakeholders on how to advance National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).
This is the second Regional NAP Expo for Asia. It is co-hosted by the UNFCCC Least Developed Countries Group and Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea, and co-organized by Korea Environment Institute(KEI)-Korea Adaptation Center for Climate Change (KACCC), in partnership with the Incheon Metropolitan City and UNEP. It expects to bring 250 participants from all over Asia, including Parties and Non-Party Stakeholders. It is also open for collaboration with interested agencies and organizations that are active in the region.
The overall objective of the regional NAP Expo is to advance the formulation and implementation of NAPs by serving as a forum where different countries, organizations and bodies in the region can interact and exchange experiences on NAPs. Specific objectives include:
a. To facilitate the interaction between country NAP teams and providers of support, including the GCF, GEF and AF, as well as bilateral agencies and other relevant organizations, to enhance access to financing for NAPs;
b. To discuss country experiences, best practices, lessons learned, gaps and needs and information on support provided and received in relation to the process to formulate and implement NAPs;
c. To offer a platform for countries to interact with the GCF and others providing support for NAPs, as a means to improve access to financing for NAPs.
