Ilaria Gallo Ilaria Gallo is an Italian national with a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Economics of International Cooperation and Development from the University of Rome La Sapienza. In 2010, Ilaria joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Malawi where she worked for three years as Programme Analyst for Climate Change, providing implementation support to the National Strategy for Managing Climate Change and technical services in the area of climate change capacity building, climate finance and vulnerability. After a year-long experience at the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC), Ilaria joined the Green Development and Climate Programme at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Geneva where, from 2014 to 2017, she supported the activities related to NAPs in LDCs and non-LDCs, focusing on skills assessment and development, training design and delivery, and capacity support to vulnerable countries. Ilaria has been recently appointed as Associate Scientific Officer in the Climate Prediction and Adaptation Branch of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) where she leads in the design of capacity building activities intended at integrating climate information into NAP preparation and implementation. At WMO, she also supports the work on extreme weather, water and climate events as well as the implementation of the Global Framework for Climate Services. Ilaria is at the final year of a Ph.D. programme on climate change science and policy with Lancaster University (UK).
