Synopsis: In light of the complexity and long-term nature of climate change and its impacts, the process to formulate and implement NAPs is designed to be a continuous and flexible process, subject to periodic review, ensuring monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL). MEL has considerably evolved in recent years including M&E of adaptation at project, portfolio and national level, including in the context of NAPs, to more recently reviewing the adequacy and effectiveness of adaptation and support as well as the collective progress made in achieving the global goal on adaptation following the adoption of the Paris Agreement in 2015. This session seeks to explore the different aspects of MEL at different levels and across different sectors, including good practices and lessons learned as well as remaining challenges.
