Mike Morecroft leads climate change adaptation and mitigation at Natural England, the government conservation agency for England. He advises the UK government on climate change and ecosystems and was actively involved in developing the National Adaptation Programme for England.
Mike is a scientist by training, with a PhD in plant ecology and has published 133 major papers, reports and books, including reviews of the impacts of climate change on biodiversity and ecosystems. He has also led the development of resources to support policy makers and practitioners in climate change adaptation. Prior to joining Natural England in 2009 Mike worked at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and worked on the long term monitoring of environmental change and established a programme of work on forest ecosystem processes. He is an Honorary Research Associate at Oxford University.
