Senior Officer, Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources, Togo, LEG member and LEG Francophone Rapporteur

Abiziou Tchinguilou is a senior officer in the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources of Togo with more than 10 year experience. Engineer Agronomist, graduated from the University of Lomé in Togo (2000), he holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Resources and Environmental Engineering (2013) with research results on the V&A of transhuman cattle farms.

On Climate change issues, he started working in 2003 on GHG inventories and mitigation before focusing on adaptation. He has been actively involved in the preparation, as well as, the implementation of the NAPA and many other initiatives such as the assessment of investment flows and financial flows for adaptation in agriculture sector. He actually coordinates the Third National Communication of Togo.

Before joining the LEG in December 2010, he has been involved in climate negotiation process since 2006.

He has participated in research activities with the University of Lomé, the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (WECARD), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and conducted many consultancies with UNOPS, UNDP, FAO and WECARD.

He is one of the co-authors for the National Strategy for Sustainable Development (NSSD) and a national expert on the Poverty Reduction Strategies and Programmes (PRSP) and Human Development Report (HDR) for Togo.

He is a PhD candidate and is committed to focus his research on climate change adaptation.
