Pascal Girot

Pascal Girot has worked since 2014 as a Senior Advisor on Climate Change with the Cabinet of the Minister of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica. His work in Latin America and the Caribbean has focused on environmental policy, land use planning and protected areas, disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change.  He headed the United Nations post disaster needs assessment missions in India, Argentina and Haiti.  He has also contributed to the formulation of GEF projects in Adaptation to Climate Change in Uruguay, Ecuador and Central America. During 2015, Pascal Girot has coordinated the formulation and consultation process of Costa Rica’s INDC. He is a member of Costa Rica’s climate change negotiation team, under the UNFCCC, and is currently coordinating the country’s NAP process.
