NAP Expo to resume this year

The NAP Expo is an outreach event organized by the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG) under the UNFCCC in collaboration with UN agencies and organizations supporting NAPs. It promotes the exchange of experiences and fosters partnerships between a wide range of actors and stakeholders on how to advance National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).

After a two-year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the seventh global NAP Expo will take place from 22 to 26 August 2022 in Gaborone, Botswana. The Expo will be held at the Gaborone International Convention Center.

The overarching theme of NAP Expo 2022 is “Transformations to adapt”, including transformations in the framing of adaptation planning; climate risk analysis; climate risk management; implementing adaptation actions; tracking and measuring the impact and outcomes of adaptation; and finance, technology and capacity-building support for adaptation. The NAP Expo will consist of a mix of plenary and thematic sessions, high-level and keynote address, workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.

The NAP Expo will also offer a platform for countries and relevant organizations to share experiences, best practices, and lessons learned in relation to the formulation and implementation of NAPs. Countries will also have the opportunity to interact with the GCF and GEF to discuss specific issues related to access to funding for NAPs.
