Before joining the Global Mechanism of the UNCCD, Lorena provided analytical support to the Climate Policy Team of the World Bank for the mainstreaming of climate change resilience through the World Bank Operations for the group of the poorest countries (IDA).
Prior to joining the World Bank, Lorena was part of the Climate Change office of the Ministry of Environment of Colombia, supporting the formulation of the National Adaptation Plan as well as coordinating the development and fostering of adaptation mainstreaming across the different sectors and territories. She was part of the Colombian delegation for the UNFCCC negotiations during four years, following the adaptation agenda and co-led the formulation of the first Colombian adaptation project approved by the Adaptation Fund of the Kyoto Protocol.
Lorena holds a Master’s degree in Tropical Forest Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management
