Alexandra Vanessa Destin PIERRE is an Engineer Architect from Haiti, with a double master in Water & Environment and in Education for a sustainable development. Currently, she is the Coordinator of a climate resilience project of the Ministry of Environment based in the satellite island of Île-à-Vache and funded by the Caribbean Development Bank. She is also the National Adaptation Plan and the Caribbean Challenge Initiative focal point of the Ministry. Previously, Alexandra was the National Coordinator of the Caribbean Youth Environment Network (Haiti Chapter) and worked as the Outreach Coordinator of Reef Check in Haiti. As a young water professional and a climate activist of Haiti, she collaborated with international institutions such as the International Secretariat of Water, Solidarity Water Europe, UNFPA, UNEP, UNICEF, OAS, UNESCO, Wings for Water, the Dutch government, the organization 350. Because of her tireless and generous involvement in the water sector for the youths, she received multiple prizes such as a Blue Passport (International Secretariat of Water), the Jean Wiener scholarship to conduct marine biodiversity research in Haiti, the nominations as the Most Outstanding Young Person of Haiti for the environment category (Junior Chamber International), the 2016 Young Female Leader of Haiti (YWCA Haiti) and the 2017 Promising Personality of Haiti (the French Embassy).
