Moumini Savadogo is a senior scientist and manager, active in environmental governance and natural resources management since 1991. He is managing the national programme of the international Union for conservation of nature and natural resources (IUCN) for Burkina Faso since 2008. He contributed to develop the national capacity in climate change, biodiversity conservation, green economy, environmental governance and sustainable development at regional (West and Central Africa), national (national policies and strategies) and local levels. His extensive experience and partnerships were valued to develop joint initiatives to capitalize and scale-up best practices and innovations across the country and the region.
Before joining IUCN, he served as Scientist for the University of Ouagadougou and the National Institute for environmental and agricultural research (INERA). Mr. Savadogo holds a Ph.D. in Animal and Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University (The Netherlands) and a diploma of rural development engineering from the University of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). He has published numerous scientific papers, chapters of books and policy briefs.
