Elena Pita is Adaptation Program Officer in the Climate Change Unit of the Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Environment Program (UN Environment). She has worked as a consultant in Environment, Climate Change and Water for the Directorate-General for International Cooperation and Development of the European Commission (DG DEVCO) and for the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), as well as in the Spanish Office of Climate Change (OECC), following developing countries and LDCs related issues. Previously she worked in the Delegation of the European Commission in Mauritania and in the branch of the consulting company AEPO, S.A. in Libreville (Gabon). She is an Agronomical Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSIA – UPM) and a holds a Master of Science from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (CIHEAM-IAM Montpellier).
